Hello and Aloha!
I’m Owen, a UX Designer in Seattle, WA. Am I the designer you are looking for? It depends. Are you looking for a team player? Yes, you are. And I am absolutely a team player. When playing ice hockey, I take pride in making that perfect pass that allows someone else to score. I lead by example and create opportunities for team success.
Do you want someone who is a fast learner and works hard? You sure do. I taught myself how to be an eye doctor’s assistant in 3 months, when the normal training is at least a year. I did this by asking a lot of questions and practicing my new skills daily. Do you want someone that understands emotions? Of course, that’s important. Working with patients taught me to consider emotions and not to assume that everyone will have the same feelings in similar situations. I’m confidant that my time spent with patients makes me an excellent user experience designer because ultimately it’s about listening to the user and understanding their needs to make critical decisions that will enhance their lives over time.
